This masters diploma thesis deals with the topic of shared services centres as a factor of development of the region. It ispects the issue from both the aspects of the companies as providers of the business support services and their clients and the aspects of the region. It analyzes location factors for setting up this type of companies in the region and the effect of these companies on the development of the region. The focus of the thesis is oriented on the European area. The work contains the definition of the term shared services centre including fitting the concept in the topics of globalization, internalization and multinational corporations as they stand behind the formation of the whole concept. The work further names location factors and, according to these, compares current situation in European countries. The following part provides with profiles of selected European countries serving as destinations for shared services, and comparison with the development in the Czech republic which today serves as one of the progressive European destinations in terms of this sector. The last part of the work is based on a case study which was carried out in cooperation of a shared services centre providing support to an international company retailing electronic goods.
Saving of a Company Cost by Using a Shared Service Centre

The bachelor's thesis deals with benefits caused by transferring of supporting activities of a company to a shared services centre. The thesis closely looks into the costs of the Mann+Hummel Service, s.r.o. company, shared service centre of the Mann+Hummel Group corporation, and it subsequently evaluates the cost saving resulting from its application using mathematical modelling. Eventually the thesis deals with the future growth of the shared service centre and the cost saving that will come from this growth.
Applied analytics of Shared service centers

This thesis focuses on the development and implementation of data analysis in an environment of shared service centers. The aim is the selection of analysis and its implementation from raw data to visualization of the results. The work is divided into two parts. The first part describes the shared services centers, their risks and benefits, and the process of data analysis, including a description and examples of visualization and data quality. The second part of the work describes the development of selected analysis. We chose the analysis of vendor master file. We perform anonymization of production raw data using IBM SPSS Modeler. We are completing this process in Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, where we are continuing with the development of analysis logic and finally assembling dashboards in Tableau visualization program.
Design and build of Shared Service Centres in the CEE

Diploma thesis introduces general principles of design and build of Shared Service Centres. Shared Service Centre is described as a suitable platform for streamlining of internal supporting services. The thesis also introduces general principles of internal processes transformation into a shared service as well as procedure for selection of suitable location. Final assessment presents most convenient countries in the world for implementation of Shared Service Centres.

The organization of controls in the specific area of shared service centre

This diploma thesis is a practical excursion into the organization of controls in a particular shared service centre. The work deals with the company relation to the section 302 and 404 of Sarbanes-Oxley Act and describes the company's internal control system according to the COSO "Integrated framework - Internal control" issued in 1992. More detailed description is provided within the company's fraud risk assessment process and within yearly testing process of control activities in order to meet section 404 of Sarbanes-Oxley Act. The specifics of external audit when performing audit in shared service centre, the shared service centre influence to foreign accounting entities from internal control system perspective are the other topics taken in consideration. Finally, there are highlighted benefits of automated system for processing travelling expenses in relation to the COSO "Integrated framework - Internal control" issued in 1992 and in relation to necessary assurances requested by U.S. SEC for the purpose of preparing financial statements under U.S. GAAP. The company's relation to anti-corruption laws (such as the FCPA) intersect in the analytical section, whose purpose is to find internal control gaps in the department processing travel reports in terms of their content and process.
Centralization, road leading to increasing efficiency of health service in the transformed hospitals in Ústí region

In my thesis deals with the transformation of hospitals in the Usti region of the allowance organizations to branch plants, related to KZ a.s.. This transformation and centralization is related to the five regional hospitals, namely Hospital Decin, Hospital Chomutov, Hospital Most, Hospital Teplice and finally, the largest hospital in the Usti region Masaryk Hospital Ústí nad Labem. In the theoretical section identifies and analyzes possible ways to transform hospitals. The practical part describes changes in the legal and organizational structure of the five regional hospitals from their earliest beginnings to the present day. Based on the SWOT analysis and financial analysis of annual reports from the period before and after transformation and centralization analyze the use of synergy effects, which were created in the process of transformation and the rise and who are/should be a guarantee of efficient use of scarce resources. The main output of my work is to evaluate the transformation in terms of growth potential for increasing efficiency and design of certain roads leading to even greater use of synergies.

This thesis deals with the organisational structure of human resources. The aim is to identify the role of HR in companies, explore the transformation process, recognize the main reasons for transformation and uncover the new structure of HR. This thesis places emphasis on the HR Business Partnership model and its three main parts - HR Business Partner, Shared Services Centre and Centre of Excellence. It is based partly on secondary data and partly on structured interviews with chosen companies.
